Puppies will have a kennel cough vaccine at 6 weeks and a 5 way vaccine between 7 and 8 weeks. They will be dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. They will have their tails banded for docking and rear dew claws removed. They will come with their health records, a scent blanky, some puppy food, a toy, etc.
Some litters will have AKC limited registration, some will not. Make sure to ask if it is important to you. All puppies are required to be spayed or neutered by 1 year old. Some vets have differing opinions on when it should be done, but I ask that you have it done by 1 year old. Please send me proof of the procedure when it is done. All our new puppy owners must sign our contract. The contract includes the spay/neuter agreement and health guarantee information. The contract is attached at the bottom of this page for you to review.
Payment - A deposit of $200 is required to hold a puppy. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another litter ONE time only. They are applied to the balance of the puppy. You are welcome to mail the deposit by check, cash, Venmo, or Zelle Pay. The balance must be paid in full before the puppy can leave. Final payments in Cash, Venmo, or Zelle. No personal or cashier's checks accepted for the final payment.
Puppies are chosen on a first come/first serve basis and in the order that I receive deposits. Choices are to be made by week 5. We often have roan patterned puppies who change a lot as they grow and by week 5 the changes will be very noticeable. If it is your turn to choose, and you know which puppy you want before week 5 that is okay too.
We reserve the right to refuse the sale of a dog or puppy to any individual for any reason and at any time. The welfare and happiness of our dogs/puppies always come first!
Picking Up - Puppies are to be picked up within one week of the date that they are ready to go home. If something comes up to prevent you from picking up your puppy on time, please notify me immediately so we can make other arrangements. I try to be flexible within reason, especially at holiday times. There is a boarding fee for anything beyond one week.
If you are a no-show to picking up your puppy and have not contacted me ahead of time, your deposit will be forfeited, and the puppy will be relisted as available.
Be on time! Do not show up crazy late for your appointment, or crazy early. I often have multiple appts scheduled and you may be screwing up the timeline for another family. And I have a life too. I have puppies that need feeding or playtimes, some dogs need to be put in crates before you get here, or let out after you leave, I have other farm and house chores that need to be done, errands to run, etc. With modern day GPS giving you exact, down to the minute, timelines there is no reason you should be late. It is very inconsiderate and rude. Same goes for being super early. I'm probably not ready yet, possibly not dressed even. I plan for the time that we agreed upon. I understand that things happen, traffic delays, bathroom emergencies etc, but a simple call or text is appreciated.
Visiting - We do not allow anyone to come in contact with our very young puppies, however we do allow visits starting after 5 weeks old. Children under 6 years old are not allowed to hold a puppy by themselves. If you have very young children or kids who are scared of strange dogs you should leave them with a babysitter. I ask that you do not stop to visit or touch any other dogs on your way here. Your hands must be washed before touching the puppies, and shoes must be removed (you can bring slippers if you want.) Like a new baby, the opportunity for young puppies to pick up infectious diseases is increased with all the new contacts. Their immune systems are building and they will not be vaccinated until 7-8 weeks old. Most illnesses and diseases are innocently carried on people's clothing and shoes.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS! There are multiple reasons why you should leave your dog at home. I cannot take the risk of any germs being spread to my pack or my puppies. My dogs will most likely be outside when you arrive and may not be happy about a newcomer; mother dogs, especially, will get upset about a new dog near their puppies. Your dog will probably be overwhelmed and could react adversely when swarmed by my excited pack. This is a hobby farm with livestock and other animals, and I cannot take the risk of your dog hurting one or getting hurt by one. And even if your dog did come out of the car it would be so overwhelmed with all the smells that it may not even notice the puppies. Furthermore, many adult dogs do not care about the offspring of another dog. So please DO NOT bring your dog. I may turn you away and ask you to reschedule if you do.
